OmmWriter is a new full screen and distraction free writing environment for the Mac. The best way I can describe it is that it is what would happen to WriteRoom if Brian Eno got a hold of it. It features a resizable input area, text size and style options, background options, and ambient music and keyboard sounds (which can, thankfully, be turned off). It can save either in it’s native format for easy relaunching or as plain text.

It is still in beta so there may be even more features coming. It’s worth a look for sure. I could easily see it being part of a perfect “writing mac” setup – just leave it up and running and set the default save location for your Dropbox or a server. Make sure to click through and watch the video on the site to get a better sense of how it works.

Winter Quarter: This is the worst class schedule ever. I don’t mind the 8:30am classes (I actually prefer them), but the 7pm classes and the looooong stretches between class (see Wednesday) can go DIAF. ugh.

Fall = knitting. IT’S BEEN SO LONG SINCE I’VE PLAYED WITH YARN!! Woot, 3 hours and I have this headband-ish thing that will hopefully become a glorious beanie within a few days. :) Yay knitting, I have missed you so. This is my first project knit in the round, on a set of circular needles, how exciting!

(It kind of looks cute as a headband too, hmm)

As expected — Vegas was a literal shitshow.

Things we lost this weekend in Sin City:

A brand-new tire, which crapped out 45 minutes from Vegas.

A bottle of vodka, which we dropped near the Grand Canal in the Venetian. SO CLASSY.

A $100 bill. And not even on a stripper or at the slots!

Chang’s license and credit card, the latter of which was stolen and swiped for over $500.

The stability of my two front teeth — they are hanging on by perilous threads. Kidding. They’re not that bad, but let’s just say I emerged from my 21st birthday with a less than symmetrical face.

ALL OUR DIGNITY. ALLLL OF IT.

Having bore witness to the nightlife in about 10 major cities including NYC, Ayia Napa, Tel Aviv, San Diego, Paris, Las Vegas… I can safely say I haven’t seen very many people who get down like my best friends do. They also win for being good sports throughout the entire weekend of catastrophe. And I resent them only a tiny bit for laughing hysterically as I sobbed on the floor of the hotel lobby with blood gushing from my face.

We did not laugh hysterically. In fact we were quite concerned… Steph’s and my first thought was, “OMG WE HAVE TO PULL HER DRESS DOWN.” /shrug

This was the dance floor last night: PACKED.

As cliche as referencing The Hangover is with all Vegas trips, it really has been Hangover-esque. Day 1 was: flat tires, world record-setting speed shoe shopping, sushi, drinks, dancing, drinks, dancing, altercations, drinks, more dancing, lecherous men, blistered feet, “EMT are on the scene,” and a lip-busting, teeth-shifting tumble for T.Wu on our way back to our hotel room.

Poor Teresa, right? But as we sat around her on the lobby floor of the Venetian at 4am, blood dripping from her mouth… I looked in her eyes and I knew, I just KNEW. She was thinking “I CAN’T WAIT TO BLOG THIS!!!” I was right, rofl.
